Coldharbour Farm is our family home, our working farm and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our family.
Who We Are
We’re Ben and Jennifer, and farming has always been part of our lives. Having both grown up around farming, we share a love of livestock, the countryside and the communities that surround rural life.
Our ambition for Coldharbour is simple: to build a thriving family farm, care for the land and livestock entrusted to us, and create a place that our family can be proud to call home for generations to come.
Why Coldharbour?
When we first came to Coldharbour, we were immediately drawn to its setting — tucked into the Devon countryside, at the gateway to Exmoor. The combination of productive farmland, stunning landscapes and close-knit communities made it the perfect place to establish the next chapter for our family.
Here, we have the space to farm, room to grow and the opportunity to share this very special part of the world with others.
Farming for the Future
We believe productive farming and caring for the countryside should go hand in hand. Our aim is to develop Coldharbour as a sustainable livestock farm, built around healthy grassland, good animal husbandry and continual improvement.
Farms are never really finished. They evolve with the seasons, the livestock and the people who look after them. We want to leave Coldharbour stronger than we found it and create opportunities for the next generation.
Sharing Coldharbour
The holiday cottages give us an opportunity to share a little of what makes this part of Devon so special.
Guests aren't arriving at a manufactured countryside retreat — they're staying on a real working family farm. There may be sheep in the fields, cattle moving between pastures, tractors working, hay being made or, at certain times of year, new lambs and calves arriving.
We hope that becomes part of the experience: somewhere comfortable to stay, beautiful countryside to explore and a genuine connection with rural Devon.
